Johann Korec was born in 1937 in Vienna. He grew up in juvenile shelters and attended a special school. From age 14 to 21 he worked on a cattle farm and as a general farmhand. From 1958, he lived in the psychiatric hospital Gugging in Klosterneuburg in Austria. Johann Korec died in July 2008.
